πŸ‘‹ Meet Your Team

Led by people who love your kids

Pastor Ryan and Pastor Carey lead Evangel Kids with a simple goal: every child who walks through our doors should feel safe, seen, and excited to come back.

Ryan serves as Children's Pastor and Pastor Carey directs Early Childhood β€” together they build a ministry where faith is fun and families are cared for. Behind them stands a team of trained, background-checked volunteers who show up every week because they believe in your kids.

Make a difference on the weekend

Whether you welcome families at the door or lead worship for our K–6th crew, there's a place for you on the Evangel Kids team. No experience needed β€” just a heart for kids.

Every Evangel Kids volunteer completes a background check and child-safety training. We follow a strict two-adult rule and all team members are mandatory reporters. Your children's safety is never an afterthought.

πŸ›‘οΈ Family Guidelines & Safety

How we keep your kids safe

Our NextGen ministries follow clear standards so every family can relax and worship with peace of mind. Tap any topic to read more.

πŸ‘§ Age Groups & Promotion +

Our NextGen ministry is organized by age so every child is with peers and in an environment built for them:

  • Early Childhood Birth–6 yrs (Birth–Kindergarten) Β· Nursery & Young Kids Church
  • Evangel Kids 7–12 yrs (Grades 1–6) Β· Sunday Kids Church, Thursday Night & Kids Events
  • Evangel Youth 13–17 yrs (Grades 7–12) Β· Sunday Youth, Thursday Night & Youth Events
  • High-School 18s 18-year-olds still in high school may remain in Evangel Youth through graduation

Students move up to the next ministry within one month of their birthday, unless a Special-Needs Transition Plan applies.

πŸ›‘οΈ Our Safety Standards +

Two-Adult Rule. Ministry workers are never alone one-on-one with a child β€” a minimum of two workers are present with minors at all times.

Background Checks. Every staff member and volunteer 18 and older passes annual national background and abuse-registry checks.

Emergency Preparedness. Evacuation maps are posted, drills are held monthly, first-aid kits are in every room, and a CPR/First-Aid certified leader is present at every service.

Mandatory Reporting. All ministry personnel are mandated reporters and follow state law and church protocol to protect every child.

🩹 Health & Hygiene +

Illness Policy. To keep everyone healthy, please keep your child home if they have a fever of 100Β°F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, an unexplained rash, or any contagious condition.

Medications. Only a parent or guardian may give medication while on campus.

Restroom Assistance.

  • Ages 0–4: diapering and toileting help is given only in open-view changing areas or single-stall restrooms with the door ajar.
  • Ages 5 and up: workers do not assist inside restroom stalls. If a child needs help, a parent or guardian is contacted right away.
πŸ‘• Clothing & Modesty +

Students should wear clothing that fully covers underwear, buttocks, and torso during normal movement β€” bending, sitting, and worship motions.

Pants-Stay-Up. If clothing repeatedly exposes underwear or bare skin, a leader will make a discreet, kind request to adjust it, and a belt or adaptive garment will be provided before the student rejoins the group.

For students with special needs, parents are asked to provide secure clothing solutions such as belts, elastic waists, or overalls.
😊 Behavior Expectations +

Positive Guidance. We reinforce good behavior and gently redirect when needed.

Not Permitted. Violence, bullying, inappropriate language, sexual misconduct, and destruction of property.

If Issues Arise. Our response is progressive β€” a verbal warning, then time-away with a leader, then parent notification, and finally removal or suspension as determined by the pastor.

Restoration. Re-entry may include a parent conference, a written apology, or mentorship β€” the goal is always to restore the child.

πŸ’™ Special-Needs Ministry +

We welcome every child with physical, developmental, sensory, emotional, or medical needs. Students are placed with their biological-age peers to foster belonging, and a special-needs student may remain in their previous ministry up to six months after their promotion birthday while an assimilation plan is put in place.

How parents partner with us:

  • Provide any needed equipment (noise-canceling headphones, communication devices, secure clothing, etc.).
  • Supply written dietary restrictions and allergy information.
  • Stay available on-site or by phone for bathroom assistance if your child is 5 or older.

We uphold each child's dignity, and physical prompts are used only with prior parent consent.

πŸŽ’ Evangel Youth (13–18) Notes +

Small Groups. Groups stay single-gender when possible, with age-appropriate discussion.

Transportation. Drivers for off-site trips must be 21 or older, licensed, insured, and listed on the trip roster.

Overnight Events. Separate sleeping quarters for males and females, with the two-worker rule always in place.

18-Year-Old Students. Those still in high school sign an Adult Student Code of Conduct, complete an adult background check, and may serve as peer leaders under staff supervision.
